2006
Research, Planning and Fact finding Year
2006 was the year which happens to be the beginning of our operations. We therefore setup a membership winning team that tried to win members/volunteers for the organization. We explained our aims and objectives to the public.
We also toured places to have firsthand information (fact finding) about the cause and effects of Social Vices, its eradication and solutions. We also trained few of our members to become volunteers/resource personnel (public relations unit).
We interacted with most of the affected persons and leaders of the affected areas, to know how best we can be of assistance/support in fighting against this epidemic spreading among the youth of today
2007
Assistance and Implementation Year
2007 was our year of action, we toured almost all the communities both affected and unaffected areas of social vices in Tema and Accra. Our focus was on the youth who are indulging in all sorts of vices aswell as children who are in need (orphans, street children, victims of child labour, drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes and school dropouts, etc).
Our educational and awareness campaign tours took us to schools and remote areas (zongo’s and ghettos). We engaged the youth and the students in discussions on how best we can assist them. We educated them, motivated, assisted and supported them and also recommended some to the appropriate and related bodies and agents for the necessary assistance.
We solicited for sponsorship and scholarship for the poor but brilliant students. We also set up Youth and Students clubs at the visited places [schools, ghettos, zongos]. We gave assistance in cash and kind such as monies, clothing, shoes, books and footing of medical bills for the needy like aged, HIV/ Aids persons, metal patients etc. We realize that there was a need to do more, but lack of support was our big problem and therefore we need more support and involvement of all concerned citizens, [companies, churches, district assemblies, other NGO’S and the government as a whole].
We had a very difficult year but an encouraging one.
We thank God for that. Amen.
